With summer down to its last two days (according to the traditional U.S. calendar, not the astronomical calendar), l would like to note the following:
I can’t imagine a better place to be in the summer than in the Pacific Northwest. Greenery, cool evenings, berry picking, hiking, s’mores on the beach, and so much more. Memories of my youth.
The fall is my favorite time of the year. The weather is still nice, arguably better as the heat subsides. We’re usually well-rested, refreshed, and rejuvenated by a slower summer routine and vacation. Moreover, as Max says, “everything shows up and ships and opens in September.”
For only the second time since I was four years old, I will not be going back to school this fall. That leaves me feeling a bit left out and jealous about missing the excitement of a brand new school year. That means…
… I’m out of my comfort zone and I’m nervous about the months to come. I’ve been cycling between an elation with the possibilities and a terror of the unknown. But I’m very appreciative of the extra time with my family. Stay tuned for updates from our adventures.
